safekeeping

"She tentatively steps toward me. I put my arms around her, look at her. Her eyes are rimmed red, her nose is swollen, and she definitely has a bad cold. I place my hands over her ears and tip her head back, and kiss her, and try to put my heart into hers, for safekeeping, in case I lose it again."

this just gave me chills... remembering the first time i read those words.
such raw emotion in her writing... i remember reading through the book the first time and having to stop every few pages and reread what she had just written because it was so real, raw... gorgeous... i hope the movie pulls it off at least partially.
